Ainsi va Manu/Hogtown (season 2)

TFO

Sahkosh Productions

In season 1 of Hogtown, we followed Manuela, a spirited, lively 16-year-old whose life is turned upside down overnight as she and her family find themselves threatened with the loss of their apartment by a construction builder, the only place she's ever lived and the last place she lived with her late father.

In season 2, After being forced to move away to Oak Ridge, a suburb city an hour away from her beloved Toronto but more importantly her friends, Manuela is going through an inner crisis. Nonetheless, she tries to make a place for herself in her new school and joins the student council. At the same time, she discovers a part of her family she never knew existed. Despite her mother's reluctance, she reconnects with an uncle and a cousin and sets off in search of her Haitian roots, notably with the help of her relatives in Toronto. Karine, her mother, who finds work in a seniors' center, is also trying to create a social circle, and Liam, her little brother, is experiencing difficulties and bullying at school.

Manuela, through her reconnection with her uncle, discovers a culture to which she has had little exposure too. But this encounter also leads her to delve into broken family ties, family secrets and unhealed wounds. And it's with the same ardor that Manuela will go through her new challenges to finally fully own and be proud of not only who she is but also the ancestors who precede her.

Episode 203 - Three Peas in a pod - Manuela joins the student committee. Visiting her oncle Frantz, Manu meets Aiden. Captivated by stories of her father's youth, Manuela loses track of time and misses the last bus to Oak Ridge. Manuela finds refuge at Kim & Patrick's, but the welcome she receives isn't quite what she expected.
