Tiny Time Travel

Easy As Pie Productions, Marobru Productions

Tiny Time Travel is a funny, fast-paced educational live-action series produced for PBS Kids. Filmed throughout New York City, the series is packed with songs, jokes for all ages, visual effects and a diverse cast of characters.

Each five to seven-minute episode follows the adventures of 11-year-old best friends, extroverted Tony and introverted Tyler, as they use their tiny time machine to solve problems in their neighborhood. Why do Tony and Tyler call it “tiny time travel”? Because their machine can only send them backwards and forwards in time a tiny bit. For example, when someone makes a mistake, Tony and Tyler can use their time machine to go back in time a few minutes and give them a “re-do.”

Tiny Time Travel was created to help kids in early elementary school improve social language skills. As a result, every problem that Tony and Tyler encounter is an opportunity to model skills like understanding nonverbal communication, understanding another person’s point of view and recognizing when miscommunication is happening and how to resolve it. Another goal of the series was to model a caring and close friendship between two adolescent boys, which is something that UCLA's Center for Scholars and Storytellers reports is lacking in today’s media landscape.

According to PBS Kids, Tiny Time Travel has had over 26 million cross-platform streams since its March 2024 premiere. The series averages over 8 million streams per month.
