Nature Lab

USA

Nature is the fantastic factory that makes the building blocks of our lives—the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. That’s why The Nature Conservancy and its 1000+ scientists have created Nature Lab: to help students learn the science behind how nature works for us and how we can help keep it running strong.

As The Nature Conservancy’s online learning platform, Nature Lab leverages technology to bring conservation issues and solutions to life in classrooms, homeschool settings and more—for free. Each Nature Lab module incorporates global conservation themes and is aligned with U.S education standards. High-quality videos, interviews with renowned scientists, hands-on activities and easy-to-use learning guides are all part of the platform. The goal of Nature Lab is to help students from kindergarten through high school–and those educating them–experience the wonder of nature, learn about places and people around the world, and see how they can take action for the challenges facing the planet.

The platform currently reaches 4.5M users annually, and TNC is expanding reach with organizations like Kahoot!, Netflix and Nickelodeon. For Earth Day 2023, TNC and Netflix co-hosted an episode of Ada Twist, Scientist that was viewed 15M+times. TNC and Nickelodeon developed Planeta Bala, an eco-focused series featuring YouTube star Isabella de La Torre.
